This professional spoon carving knife is made by Narex Bystrice a highly respected cutting tool manufacturer from the Czech Republic. It is made from the same high-quality Manganese steel as their other edge tools. This spoon-carving or hook knife is perfect when you need to scoop out a convex surface from spoons or bowls. It allows for a more controlled and aggressive cut than a straight knife. It is sharpened on one side and considered a right-hand version that is designed to be pulled towards the carver when using the right hand or pushed away when using the left hand. The blade is made from manganese alloy steel and heat treated for a hardness of 61 HRc, and will take and hold an excellent edge. The blade is 11/16 inches wide at it’s base and nearly a full 1/8 inch thick with a flat back. These blade characteristics facilitate smooth and chatter-free cuts. The blade is 2 inches long with a 1 inch radius curved blade. The blade is straight and does not tapers along its length. The knife comes razor sharp and ready for use. Handle is a full 1-1/4 inches wide and 4-1/2 inches long for a secure grip that reduces fatigue. Handle is made from stained and finished European Beech wood.
